Liebe Kollegen,

Am 4.2.2008 wird der pub Login-Cluster in Zeuthen umgestellt.
Für alle X-Win32 und Exceed Benutzer gibt es folgende Veränderungen:

 * Die Entwicklung des fvwm2 wurde eingestellt und ist mit SL5
 nicht mehr verfügbar. Wir empfehlen den fvwm2 Benutzern
 auf icewm oder kde umzusteigen.

 * Das Protokoll xdmcp ist aus Sicherheitsgründen abgeschaltet

Eine "vollständige" Sitzung kann mit Xwin32 durch die folgenden Kommandos gestartet werden:

ein X-term mit:<<BR>>

xwinsession ist ein von DESY Zeuthen entwickeltes Script für den Start einer X-session von einem Windows Rechner.  Mit diesem
Script wird der Font Pfad erweitert, werden Umgebungsparameter gesetzt und es werden System- und Benutzerprofile für Language Support, Keyboardmapping und Ressoucenmanagement abgearbeitet.
Wurde X-Win32 8.1 über NetInstall installiert, wird die neue Konfiguration automatisch ab dem 4.2.2008 bereitgestellt.

The public Login cluster PUB in Zeuthen will be changed to SL5.
The following changes affect X-win32 and Exceed users:

 * fvwm2 is no longer supported, and not available for SL5. We recommend
users of fvwm2 to use icewm or kde instead.
 * For security reasons, the xdmcp protocol is no longer available.

The following commands can be used in X-Win32 to start a whole session:

xwinsession is a DESY-Zeuthen script for the remote access from Windows PCs.
It extends the font path, sets environment variables, and executes system wide and user specific profiles for language support,
keyboard mapping and resource management, as for local sessions on linux desktop PCs.
For all installations of X-Win32 version 8.1 with NetInstall the new configuration will be provided automatically.
