BR A MAC address (Media Access Control) is a unique hardware number assigned to a Network Interface Card. She is 12- digit and contains numbers and letters. It may have several different names, the MAC address is sometimes called Ethernet Address, Hardware Address, Network Address or Physical Address depending on the manufacturer. How to find your MAC address?
BR Linux BR BR Type /sbin/ifconfig –a at the shell prompt, then press Enter or Return. BR BR
You will find the hardware address listed after HWaddr. |
Click Start on the taskbar and select Run.
In the Open dialog box, type the following and click OK (or just press enter): cmd
This will launch an MS-DOS window. At the prompt (C:\>), type the following and press Enter: ipconfig/all
Under the settings for your ethernet connection you will see your MAC address listed by physical address. |
Go to the Apple Menu
Select About This Mac
Select More Info
Under Network click on the Show box and select Built-in Ethernet
Click on the Ethernet tabBR
The MAC address will be shown as Ethernet ID. |
For wireless, select Airport in the Show box. The MAC address labeled as Airport ID. |
